A NEXGEN MATERIALS INITIATIVE

Critical materials for American defense — sourced and processed at home.

The defense industrial base runs on materials that are mostly processed somewhere else. NexGen Materials develops lower-cost, domestic processing routes for antimony, iodine, titanium and lithium.

WHY NOW

The rules changed. The supply chain hasn't caught up.

01

Procurement now requires non-Chinese supply

Newly enforced executive orders require businesses in federal supply chains to buy non-Chinese-sourced materials. Primes need qualified domestic alternatives.

02

Financial tailwinds

Domestic critical-materials processing is now a national priority, and public and private investment are lining up behind it.

03

AI-first process design

Digital-twin simulation lets us test process routes in minutes instead of months, so new capacity reaches production faster and cheaper.

THE MATERIALS

Four materials. Four supply-chain pinch points.

ATO

Antimony

Flame retardants are antimony's largest use by volume, and the U.S. Army depends on them. NexGen's hybrid blend, built on a Specialized Nanotube input, delivers similar performance at a fraction of the cost of opening new mines.

I

Iodine

Iodine is emerging as a solid-state alternative to xenon for satellite electric propulsion — denser, safer to store and launch-ready without pad fueling. At today's prices it's hard to justify. NexGen is working to cut the cost of producing iodine by at least two-thirds.

APPLICATIONS · Space propulsion · Energy storage · Medical imaging
Ti

Titanium

Airframes, armor and engines run on titanium, and the major defense primes are exposed to sponge supply pinch points. NexGen is developing lower-energy processing routes to put domestic titanium back in reach.

APPLICATIONS · Airframes · Armor · Propulsion
Li

Lithium

Beyond batteries, lithium underpins naval reactor chemistry and radiation detection, and its enriched isotopes are controlled by Russia and China. NexGen DLE extracts lithium from clays and brines with almost no fresh water.

HOW WE WORK

Mine to manufacturing.

NexGen works where Defense Tech, Critical Minerals, Energy Tech and Materials Processing overlap. We connect domestic resources, proven process technology and capital, then build the plants that turn them into qualified material.

  1. 01
    Innovate
Pair an overlooked resource with the right process technology, often licensed from university and national-lab IP.
  2. 02
    Accelerate
Prove the route in simulation and at lab scale before committing capital to steel.
  3. 03
    Facilitate
Stand up domestic production through joint ventures with operators, primes and funders.
